# How to recover my items after an API scam?

## Got scammed? You might still get your items back!

It is always sad to lose your items when getting scammed. However, do not worry, with the new Steam update, you can recover your items! 
Please remember that **you have 7 days from completing the trade to reverse it**. 

|| Keep in mind that reversing your trades will undo *all* trades made in the past 7 days

Follow these steps to recover your items: 

1. Go to your [Trade History](https://steamcommunity.com/my/tradehistory?snr=100601___)
2. At the top of the page, click on the yellow banner "Click here to recover your account and eligible items"

3. Click "Reverse eligible trades"

**After that, the items will be transferred back to your account!**
