# How to set up my Steam account?

${color}[#666666](This article will walk you through the Steam account setup. You must change your "Inventory" and "Profile" from Private to Public in your Steam account settings.)

## Let’s get your Steam account set up!

Setting up your Steam account is simple. Follow the instructions below to learn how to do that:

1. Open your Steam account by using [this link](https://steamcommunity.com/my). You will see information that your account is not set up. Now click **Setup Steam Profile**

2. You should now see your account settings. Click **Privacy Settings**

3. Change your **My Profile** and **Inventory** settings to **Public**

4. Click **Avatar** and go crazy customizing your avatar!
